24/7 Emergency HVAC Repair in Rathdrum

A furnace that dies on a frigid night or an AC that gives out mid heat wave gets a tech at your door at any hour. We track down the real failure, point it out to you and put the price in writing before we start. There are no emergency or after-hours fees.

When a breakdown can't wait until Monday

Some problems can sit for a day. A furnace that won't light when it's below freezing outside is not one of them. Neither is a gas smell, a breaker that keeps tripping on the outdoor unit, or an AC that's out with older folks or a baby in your home during a summer heat spell.

We answer the phone around the clock and send a tech out. The first job is the same at 2 a.m. as at 2 p.m.: test the system, find the cause, and tell you plainly what we found. Then you decide what to do.

Sometimes the honest answer is a small part and a reset. Sometimes it's a temporary fix to get you warm tonight and a proper repair in daylight. We'll tell you which, and why.

What an emergency visit covers

A full check, not a guess

We test power, controls, safeties, ignition, and refrigerant side as needed. A system that quit for one reason often has a second weak spot, and we look for it.

Safety first on gas units

If there's a gas smell or a cracked heat exchanger is suspected, we check for leaks and carbon monoxide before anything else. If a unit isn't safe to run, we shut it down and explain why.

Plain findings at your door

We hold up the burned-out part or point to the meter number that tells the story. You hear what broke in everyday words, not shop talk.

A written quote before work

You see the price in writing before we start the repair. If you'd rather wait for regular hours, that's your call.

Common parts on the truck

Igniters, flame sensors, capacitors, contactors, and inducer parts fail the most, so we carry them. Many night calls end with the system running before we leave.

Furnaces, AC, and heat pumps

We handle gas and electric furnaces, central air, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits. If yours is a newer variable-speed unit, we work on those too.

When to call us tonight

  • The heat is out and it's freezing

When the house starts cooling off quickly, your pipes and your family are both at risk. Don't sit and hope it restarts.

  • You smell gas or the CO alarm goes off

Get out of the house and call the gas utility first. After that, call us to track down the source and make the furnace safe.

  • A hot or burning smell

Melting plastic odor coming from the furnace or air handler often means an overheating motor or failing wiring. Turn the system off at the thermostat and then at the service switch beside the unit.

  • The breaker for the outdoor unit keeps tripping

Resetting it over and over puts strain on the compressor, the most expensive part of the system. One trip that resets and stays on is rarely a concern. If it trips again, leave it off and call us.

  • Water gushing out of the unit

A plugged condensate line or an iced-up coil can ruin a floor or ceiling within hours. Turn the system off and we'll find the cause.

How a night or weekend call goes

  1. 1

You call, we get the basics

We'll want to know what the system is or isn't doing, any odd noises or smells, and who's home with you. If gas could be involved, we'll walk you through what to do right away while a tech heads out.

  2. 2

    We test before we touch

The tech checks the whole system and pins down the failure. You get the findings and the options in plain words.

  3. 3

You approve the price in writing

Nothing gets fixed until you've seen and okayed a written quote. If you want a second look in daylight, we'll set that up.

  4. 4

We fix it and run it

After the repair we run the system through full cycles and check temps at the vents. We clean up and leave the area as we found it.

What decides the cost of an emergency call

A call at midnight is priced the same as a call at noon, because we add no emergency or after-hours fees. The diagnostic fee counts toward the repair when you have us do it. The written quote comes first, so the final bill holds no surprises.

The part that failed
A capacitor or flame sensor is a fast, low-cost swap. A blower motor, control board or compressor part costs more and may take longer to get.
Whether we carry the part
When the part is on the truck, the job often wraps up that night. Some boards made for one brand must be ordered, and we may rig a safe temporary fix until it arrives.
How hard the unit is to reach
A tight crawlspace or a hot attic slows the work compared with an open basement or garage. Extra time shows up as more labor on the quote.
How old and worn the system is
If an older unit has several parts on the way out, we lay all of it in front of you. Some cases call for a repair and others for a replacement, and the choice is yours.

Emergency repair questions

Something not covered here? (208) 974-9411

Do you really come out in the middle of the night?

Yes. We take emergency calls 24/7, including weekends and holidays. We'll ask a few questions on the phone so the tech shows up with the right parts.

Will I pay extra for a night or weekend call?

No. We don't charge emergency or after-hours fees. The price works the same way it does during the day, with a written quote before any repair.

What should I do while I wait?

If you smell gas, get everyone out and call the gas utility from outside. For no heat, close doors to unused rooms, open cabinet doors under sinks on outside walls, and use safe space heaters away from anything that can burn. For a water leak, shut the system off at the thermostat.

Can you just get me through the night and fix it properly later?

Often, yes. If a part has to be ordered, we may be able to make the system run safely in the meantime. We won't do a temporary fix on anything that isn't safe, like a cracked heat exchanger.

Do you cover towns outside Rathdrum?

Yes. We take emergency calls in Post Falls, Hayden, Coeur d'Alene, Liberty Lake, and Otis Orchards-East Farms. Check our Service Areas page for more.

Furnace or AC quit on you?

Pick up the phone and describe what's going on. A tech comes out, finds what failed, and you see the price in writing before any work starts.
