Commercial HVAC in Rathdrum
We service and repair heating and cooling for shops, offices, restaurants and small commercial buildings. We start with a full look at the equipment, walk you through what we see, and put the price on paper before a single part gets changed. No guessing, no padded list of parts.

Heating and cooling for the place you do business
A commercial system works harder than a residential one. It runs longer hours, serves more people and often sits on a roof where nobody looks at it until something stops. When it fails, you lose more than comfort. Customers leave, staff get short with each other and stock can spoil.
We handle packaged rooftop units, split systems, gas furnaces, heat pumps and ductless units in small and mid-size commercial spaces. Every visit starts the same way. We inspect the equipment, test it under load and write down what we see. Then we tell you what needs fixing now, what can wait and what is fine.
Units that quit at night or on a weekend are covered by our 24/7 emergency HVAC repair, and we don't add emergency or after-hours fees to the bill. Replacements and tune-ups get booked around your schedule so the doors stay open.
What our commercial work covers
- Rooftop unit service
- We open up packaged rooftop units, check the heat exchanger, burners, compressor, contactors and belts, and clean the coils. Loose access panels and worn belts are common finds, and both are cheap to fix before they turn into bigger trouble.
- Repair and diagnosis
- We track down the real fault rather than trading out parts until one sticks. Go ahead with the repair and the diagnostic fee is credited toward it.
- Controls and thermostats
- Many commercial complaints come from controls, not equipment. We check thermostat programming, schedules and wiring so the system runs when people are in the building and backs off when they are not.
- Equipment replacement
- When a unit is worn out, we size the replacement for the space and how it is used, not just the tag on the old one. Estimates are free on installations and replacements.
- Scheduled upkeep
- Filter changes, coil cleaning and seasonal checks on a set schedule keep units from failing on the hottest or coldest day of the year.
Signs your building's system needs a look
Hot and cold zones
One end of the shop is freezing while the front office is stuffy. That often points to a failing unit, a control problem or a damper stuck in one position.
Energy bills creeping up
If usage climbs while your hours stay the same, the equipment is likely working harder than it should. Dirty coils and low refrigerant are the usual causes.
Short cycling
A unit that kicks on and off every few minutes wears out its compressor fast. It can be a sizing issue, a bad sensor or a refrigerant problem.
Water around the unit
Puddles under an indoor unit or stains on ceiling tiles usually mean a clogged condensate drain. Left alone, it can damage the ceiling and grow mold.
Burning or musty smells
A burning smell at startup can mean an electrical problem or a failing motor. Shut the system off and have it checked before running it again.
Staff complaints
People notice first. When employees keep adjusting the thermostat or bringing in space heaters, something is off.
What sets the cost of a commercial job
No two buildings are set up alike, so we don't put a number on a job until we have looked at the equipment. You get a written quote before any work begins, and it covers the work we walked you through.
Type and size of equipment
One small split system takes less time and fewer parts than a big packaged rooftop unit. How many units serve the building adds to it as well.
Access
Units on a flat roof with a fixed ladder are quicker to reach than ones that need a lift or sit in a tight mechanical room. Snow and ice on the roof in winter can also slow the work.
Parts and age
Older units may need parts that are harder to find. When repair costs start to approach the value of the unit, we tell you so you can weigh replacement.
Timing
Planned work can be scheduled around your hours. We do not charge extra for emergency or after-hours calls.
How a commercial service call runs
- 1
First phone call
Let us know the symptoms, how many units serve the building and what hours you are open. We pick a time that keeps the disruption low.
- 2
We inspect before we recommend
Our tech checks the equipment, measures temperatures and pressures and looks at the controls. We take photos of anything worn or broken so you can see it too.
- 3
You get plain findings and a written quote
We explain what is wrong, what it will take to fix and what can wait. Nothing gets done until you have the quote in writing and say yes.
- 4
We do the work and clean up
We make the repair, test the system through a full cycle and clear out old parts and debris from the roof or mechanical room. Before we leave, we tell you what we did and what to watch for.

Commercial HVAC questions
What kinds of businesses do you work with?
We work with retail shops, offices, restaurants, small warehouses and similar spaces. If your building runs on rooftop units, split systems, furnaces, heat pumps or ductless units, we can service it. Call and tell us what you have, and we will let you know if it is a fit.
Can you work around our business hours?
Yes. Most rooftop work can happen while you stay open, and we plan replacements for early mornings, evenings or closed days when we can. We will tell you ahead of time if a unit needs to be off for a stretch.
How do I know you are not overselling me?
We show you photos of what we found and explain it in plain terms. Our quote separates what needs fixing now from what can wait. If the system just needs a cleaning and a new belt, that is what we will tell you.
Is there a charge to diagnose a problem?
Repair visits carry a diagnostic fee. Approve the repair and that fee gets applied to your bill, so you are not paying for the diagnosis on top of the fix. Estimates are free on installations and replacements.
Which towns do you cover for commercial work?
Rathdrum and the towns around it, including Post Falls, Hayden, Coeur d'Alene, Liberty Lake and Otis Orchards-East Farms. Give us the building's location when you call and we will confirm it is in our area.
Get your building's system checked
Tell us what the equipment is doing and when you are open. We will inspect it, explain what we find and put the quote in writing before any work starts.
